My College Friends Helped Me Through The Worst Parts Of Growing Up

I’m always writing about growing up and I think I’ll be “growing up” for the rest of my life. I have the best family ever and when I went to college I didn’t have my five family members there all the time. I needed to get through all the rough times on my own, but I couldn’t have done it without all the great people I’ve met in the past two years.

1. My non-judgmental friend

I could tell you anything and you would never judge me for anything. Nothing I could say is ever too crazy or too wild to tell you. We get kind of crazy together and I know you’re always down for a good time. Let's go out on a Thurs? You’ll be there. You’re probably my most edgy friend too, so I’m tryin’ to keep my street cred very cool.

2. My girl that has been there since the beginning

Can’t make friends in your classes? No way. I made my best college friend in my first class of freshmen year. You thought my outfit was a mess the first day, but we’ve been yelling “LIT” and having each other’s backs since the beginning. Cheers! I don’t know what I would do without you and I truly cannot go 24 hours without hanging out with you.

3. My most LIT friend and most HUMBLE homie

You’re the coolest and most hilarious person I’ve ever met. Your humor is so underrated — you’ll roast me and have my back until the end. You’re humble as heck and I don’t know what I’d do without you telling me “everything is going to work out.” Thanks for having my back when we go out and always being a good time gal.

4. My friend of a friend that turned into my BFF

I never really thought we had so much in common. When you’re stressing about some guy I understand everything that you feel or if you’re worried about our friends judging you I completely get where you’re coming from. Stay true to you and don’t worry about people not liking you, girl!

5. My grown-up friend

I want to be as organized and put together as her because she can wear a t-shirt and still have her sh*t together. She has her life planned out and I have respect for her being a grown a** woman.

We may have met in our classes or from a mutual friend, but either way, I’m thankful for all of you and I can’t wait for us to be friends forever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
