Dear college best friend,
"Distance is just a test to see how far friendship travels." Well honey, ours travels about 561 (give or take a few) miles.
It's been over two months since the last time I randomly walked into your room to eat your food and watch Netflix. It's been over two months since we took a nap together after a long night, since we were able to gossip freely, since we could just be us together. It's crazy to think that less than a year ago we didn't even know each other and now we FaceTime multiple times a week because it's the next best thing to actually being in the same room. That and our Snapchat streak is getting pretty high because I gotta keep you updated on my random, easily distracted brain every day. Even though it's been so long since we spent more than a few hours together you're still my go-to for everything. You know about all of my drama, and I know about yours because we gotta keep each other updated on everything so when we're back at school we haven't missed a beat.
Thank you for being my therapist and breakfast/lunch/dinner date all rolled into one. Thank you for always keeping enough food in your room for both of us because you know I never go get any and I'm just gonna eat all of yours anyway. Thank you for taking me home with you to eat real, not dining hall, food because you live way closer to school than I do. Thank you for sharing your mom's bomb cooking with me. It's basically the highlight of my week. I highly appreciate all of the food-related things that you do for me. Thank you for always being down to talk about those guys that are so cute (on and off campus). I know that without me even saying names that you know exactly who I'm talking about. Thank you for singing along to songs with me at school and over FaceTime. Thanks for also watching all of the same movies and shows that I do and appreciating them as much as I do. Watching "Gilmore Girls," "Gossip Girl," "Grease" and "One Tree Hill" was probably the foundation of our friendship and I have zero regrets about that at all.
Thank you for making me feel more at home at school because I'm so far away from home. It's been a long summer so far without you to go to but I'm looking forward to the rest of our college years spent with you by my side. It's only one more month until you can expect me at your door with ice cream when you've had a bad day. Only one more month until we start another year of crazy stories about weekends and Netflix binges and I don't know about you but I am beyond excited for it to start.
Miss you like crazy and love you even more,
Your best friend
