What to do, what to do?

What To Do With All Of That College Free Time

College. It is a wonderful time full of all kinds of new experiences. One new thing that will drastically change from high school is your classes. You may have three classes that are one hour long or one class that is three hours long. The crazy thing about this is that you may only have one class a day or you may have five depending on how you set up your schedule.

All of this being said, you are going to have a ton of free time and now you have to ask yourself, "What am I going to do with all of my free time?" Well, here is a list of possible ideas.

1. Nap

A good nap is always a good time filler. Also college is kind of like when you were little, if you didn't get a nap you might get a little grouchy.

2. Go to work or get a job

Got to start working on paying off those student loans... or all of those late night ventures to Wal-mart.

3. Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to open yourself to new experiences and also it looks great on a resume.

4. Go to a movie

Many town or cities that have colleges also have movie theaters who have good deals for students.

5. Start a series on Netflix

There are all kinds of things to watch on Netflix for almost anyone to watch.

6. Start four more series on Netflix

Why stop at one, keep on chugging and get comfy because there are so many things to watch.

7. Go out with friends

This is something that can be as little as going over to someones dorm/apartment to going to the club and turning up!!!!!

8. Join a campus group or organization

There is literally a campus organization for anything that you could probably ever want. Fan of board games? There is a group for that. Big in politics? Join a Democratic or Republican organization. Underwater basket weaving? Well I do not think there is a group for that, but you could totally start one if you wanted to.

9. Exercise

Terrified of gaining that dreaded Freshman 15? I am guessing that your school has a gym and you do not have to pay for it. So go hit the gym up and maybe take some of the classes that they teach there. Anyone up for cycling or maybe Zumba?

10. Eat!!!!

Well you have to use those dining meals and money on something right? Why not eat it all???

11. Another Nap

Like I said before... Naps are great.

12. Go to a sporting event

Most colleges have sporting events year round and this is a good way to show your school spirit and it is probably FREE!!!!!!

13. Homework

I guess during all of that free time you could probably do the homework that you get from your classes (I mean this may be the first thing that you should do, or you may look like this guy).

College gives you so many freedoms that you probably did not have while you were in high school. Make sure you get good grades, but also make sure you have all the fun you can!!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
