Spongebob is the show that almost all millennials can recognize and quote on a daily basis. The lovable and quirky yellow sponge has managed to make us all love him while simultaneously getting annoyed by his antics. As we got older, we started looking at some scenes from the show and relating a little too hard. So, here is the eight times Spongebob basically explained the college experience.
1. Having No Friends at First
Freshmen are lonely. It's inevitable. I guarantee most newbies feel alone their first night or two. And while it does suck, it always get better.
2. Getting Excited for the Weekend so you can Party
When Friday morning rolls around, we often find ourselves feeling like a kid in a candy shop. Spongebob has an excitable quality that all college kids can relate to, especially when it comes to parties, free food, and bouncy houses.
3. I Think I can let Your Imagination Work This One Out
4. Or This One, Hopefully
5. Knowing You Need to Work Out, but Having no Athletic Ability or Motivation
You mean I have to get up and go sweat? Ugh, if I have to. There are some people on college campuses who are religious about exercising. I, however, would rather stay in bed and watch Grey's Anatomy in my undies all day. I'm sure many of you would agree.
6. Losing Complete Control Over Your Life as Finals Draw Closer
Do you find yourself looking like our friend Patrick here at 4 AM on a Tuesday? Yeah, me too. Don't be ashamed, it's normal behavior for college kids.
7. The Complete Inability to Write Essays at the End of the Semester
We all know the feeling. Sitting in front of a blank Word document, hours after starting, the computer screen stinging your eyes. A simple 2 page paper can take days when all motivation has gone out the window. Assignments often get submitted 30 seconds before the due date. Oh well, at least it got done right?
8. When You Get Your Final Grades Back and You Have to Just Sit and Reevaluate Your Choices
College is hard.
