Spoiler alert, just because it's a club sport doesn't mean it's not legit. No, we aren't playing on scholarship. No, we don't really even have school support. And no, nobody knows our team exists. But those things don't matter. We represent our school and love doing it. There's no place I would rather be than representing the school I love while staying low-key about it.

1. The team

You know when you cried at your last high school sporting event because life would be forever changed? Can't relate. I just picked up a new set of team members, friends, and sisters at a different school. Instead of dreading practice like we used to after class, I now look forward to it so I can get away from school and even use it as an excuse to procrastinate. "Meet up to do the homework?" Nah, I have practice, It'll have to wait. "Sit in bed and dread my test this week?" Nah, I have practice, I better get up and go do something productive that isn't school. My oh my, how college changes you.

2. The group message

You can bet the group message is always lowkey poppin'. There's always someone spilling tea, telling us their sass stories with TSA in the airport, or asking if the swollen and bruised ankle from the bar mishap is just sprained or really broken (it was broken).

3. Traveling to away games

The conversations with both new and old team members were something to remember. The countless inside jokes, radio jam sessions, deep life talks, and throwing shade at the other drivers driving. Yes, cruise control needs to be used in the car leading us all on the highway and no, I won't ever change my mind.

4. Away games

Nothing like walking onto another schools field and not knowing anything about their team. Will there be enough players to field an entire field or will be playing down? Does anyone on the other team even know how to play? Will anyone stop us from blasting music and dancing on tables? Is it okay to eat a full meal at Chili's before the next game or will someone throw up on the field? Nobody ever knew, and man, what fun that was trying to figure it out each time.

5. Better yet, home games

The great thing about our turf fields is that they back up to Greek circle which is great during darty szn. No matter who you looked at, they were dancing on the field between plays as the fraternities DJ'd our games unknowingly. Grabbing drinks and crawfish between games never felt so right.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
