College is such a beautiful part of our lives. Filled with fun, insanity, and humor, it is sometimes a good decision to look at it with light heartedness and dark humor, at times, too. Here are some highlights from college, as explained by the infamous villain from the movie, "The Shining", Jack Torrance :

1. First day.

How perfect does life seem ! Remember your first day of moving in and looking into your mirror and making this face to yourself? Remember feeling awesome as you made friends on the first day itself and got ready to go to a club, looking fly and made this face to yourself, as if you were saying,"who's the man now, huh?"

2. Homesickness.

Being in college is a whole new experience. We all feel homesick at some point. Don't you just want to go back running to your mom sometimes and yell at the top of your lungs, "I AM HOME!"

3. The Library.

How can one forget the time they went to the library just a day before their final exam, only to find a group of people talking loudly, as if they were on a talk show? You stand there in your pajamas trying to study and well, there they are, not caring at all. Well, Jack Torrance feels you and knows the pain of being constantly distracted.

4. The Stress.

Finals week is about to dawn upon us, and well, nobody gets out alive. Just kidding, we all can make it. But while we stress about college, and our parents try to calm us down, telling us that we will be fine no matter what, Jack Torrance provides a very real insight into what we all want to say. "Has it ever occurred to you what would happen to my future if I were to fail to live up to my responsibilities?" Sigh.

5. The Professors.

Going to class is a stretch. Sometimes we like our professors, and sometimes, we don't. We all have at least one professor, who refuses to hear even one word, when we try to explain why we are late, or why we could not attend class.

6. The Hookups.

After a night of clubbing, dancing with a guy/girl, and flirting with them, you finally end up in your dorm/apartment. Jack Torrance knows the rush you are feeling. We know that just like him, you want them to have a really good time, too. Stay safe, and enjoy yourself.

7. The Friendships.

Ah, the wonders of finding good friends in college! Somewhere along the line, we all make great friends in college, and start loving them like our family. Love, and cuss words, yes, they pretty much sum up our amazing bond with our college friends. Nobody can even dare hurt them.

8. The Study Breaks.

Remember that study break you took in the beginning of the semester for a quiz five months ago, that has lasted all this while? Yes, that is exactly what I am talking about. College can get so hectic sometimes, that, truly, a five month break is exactly what we all need.

9. The Relationships.

If you are lucky enough to fall in love with someone during college, cherish them. Please don't creep them out the way Jack Torrance creeps his wife out. Especially on the first date, try to stay away from calling them your "darling," because, well, college makes us all wanting a boyfriend or girlfriend, but a potential boyfriend/girlfriend does not need to know how desperate we are.

Filled with all the quirks and perks, college is an experience like no other. It is important to cherish it and power through it. This incomparable phase of our lives might never come again, and it's always fun to have a positive outlook on it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
