1. College is where you become who you never knew you were meant to be. Follow your heart and your dreams. Never regret anything or any decisions that helped you learn who you are. Every new academic year gives you a chance to become even better academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Use this opportunity to your advantage.
2. Don't be too bummed when you don't find the love of your life on your first day of college. Give it some time, and allow yourself to make mistakes before you settle down forever. You'll learn and be a better person, and lover, for it.
3. People will let you down, talk about you behind your back, and disappear from your life. Don't fret: you'll move on and find someone better.
4. Not everyone is trustworthy. Be cautious and aware of your surroundings.
5. Don't skimp on sleep. You'll always function better when you're well rested. I surely don't recommend all-nighters. You'll never do it again after the first time you try one. And don't fall asleep behind the wheel of your car because of it. Don't be like Deb.
6. It won't always be easy to put yourself out there and make new friends. Don't be discouraged or self-concious. Just go for it! Sometimes it won't work out, but you may just meet your best friend for life. Just jump in and don't be afraid!
7. You will meet lots of fake people. Don't let them get to you, and make sure you drop them as soon as you find out that they're the one who convinced your boyfriend to break up with you.
8. Live it up! You only go to college once, and you'll want to remember it for the rest of your life. You'll want to look back and know that you made the most of those four years, so live in the now. Not destructively of course; have some regard for the future. Just don't look so far ahead that you're missing the present.
9. Not everything will go as planned. Take it as it comes and move on. Don't dwell on your failures, but triumph with your successes.
10. There will be times when you want to go full on Dexter. Don't. Calm your emotions and remove the negativity from your life. Surround yourself with positivity, and make college the best experience of your life!
