Roughly about nine or more years ago, Colleen Ballinger- Evans started out on YouTube as an aspiring actress from Santa Barbra, CA. Not thinking her funny videos filmed alongside her sister, Rachel Ballinger, and college friends on her free time, would later down the road land her fame and success as a well known character and persona, "Miranda Sings".
From watching her videos from her early years as Miranda, this was a funny way for Colleen to portray all of the things she ABSOLUTELY hated the most from people interactions she's had over the years. Miranda's character has her own communication with her Youtube star friends and the open public by mispronouncing words, her wardrobe and makeup consists of wearing endless amounts of lipstick, a blue and white striped collared shirt with high waisted pants, her signature crocs, pulled back hair, and rarely goes anywhere without talking about the love for her Uncle while holding onto her Daddy Saddle!
This is Colleen alongside her husband Joshua Evans, who she met through Youtube as Miranda!:
Colleen's comedy routine as mentioned before was just a fun way to entertain her family and friends when she wasn't auditioning for shows while living in NYC. Little did she know she would meet the love of her life from it, and now be able to tour all around the world from a character she once made up about nine years prior. From Miranda's channel, Colleen has developed herself as a YouTube sensation with her personal channel PsychoSoprano, Vlog channel featuring her friends and family, outside from her character Miranda . All and all this has built strong connections with Youtube and a created a wide spread fan base intertwining between her made up persona, and her personally. Miranda is commonly know for covering songs from popular artists, having other YouTube stars on for collaborations, makes funny tutorial or DIY videos, along with full on music videos and fan mail sessions with her fans!
As for Colleen, with her compadre standing beside her from the beginning of her amateur YouTube days, Colleen's sister Rachel Ballinger is her manager when she goes on tour as Miranda, and it is not uncommon for her whole family to come onto the stage!
The support system like Colleen has is unremarkable. In many of her personal videos, she mentions how it is always comforting to her while away that even if she is not home for long periods of time, they will be there for her, and maybe even surprise her on tour if they can!
As for Miranda, Colleen's history of Miranda's family are as followed:
1. Her Uncle
2. Her Annoying Mom
3. Mentions her neighbors, but never names
Miranda's talents include:
-Magic, modeling, singing, acting, dancing, performing, being an author, Running for President 2016, etc.
With the exorbitant amount of success from her start on YouTube, Colleen does more than provide funny jokes, comedy shows, and silly gifs we all can look at. Colleen is very involved and aware with what is going on in our world today. She encourages her viewers and fans to donate money whenever they can to countless charities and organizations on their own time during times of crisis, or just when she feels like making a difference, supports the LBGTQA+ community openly, and always wants to do things for others! Let it be a good day for Miranda to be nice and help her fans, or as Colleen to go far and beyond.
As of recently, Miranda's fan base and ultimate craze for her wacky persona and strong opinions on everything, reached the point to where Netflix approached Colleen and her brother Chris to make a show about Miranda's Life : "Haters Back Off!" This was the absolute high point for Colleen as she remembers as the silliness and progress it took to develop Miranda over the years, and it was crazy that her character was going to be brought to life. As a Fan myself, I am so happy that during this time she has been able to write a book called "Selp Helf" and be able to work so hard on this series.
Miranda and Colleen are both wonderful contributions to the YouTube community and to those who watch them.
P.S -- For those who will be reading this during or after the holiday, Miranda wants to wish you a very Happy 4th of July!
