My Coffee Addiction Is Real

I've slowly grown to accept that I'm 100% addicted to caffeine in the preferred form of coffee.

As a child I remember trying coffee and thinking that it was the worst tasting thing that I had ever drank. Wow, I was such a naive child. Being a senior in college, I can firmly say that coffee is now one of the best things I have ever drank.

I never thought that I would be the type of person who becomes addicted to coffee. I know that caffeine is an addictive substance, so I was always so against drinking anything that had caffeine in it. That has not lasted very long considering I live off caffeine now that I'm in college.

There have been some recent events that have occurred in my life that helped me to realize that I am fully addicted to caffeine, and not just any caffeine. I'm addicted to coffee, Coffee, COFFEE!!

I once went to Starbucks for the first time in a while. The lady questioned where i had been because she had not seen me for a while. I knew I might of had a problem then.

Not long ago I was on my way to work and stopped to get a donut, which was going to make me late, but I was hungry. I went to Dunkin and the worker questioned why I did not order my usual. I knew I might have a problem then.

The other day I was driving to my internship and I had not had any coffee at all that day. I just felt a little weird, like I was a zombie for the day. Thats when it happened; I drove down the wrong lane in the parking lot. People just stared at me while I tried to awkwardly turn around in a handicap parking spot. It was then that I finally accepted that I was addicted to coffee.

Shortly after that my family went on a small vacation to see family out of town. In the morning my family was giving me a hard time because I was being moody and all that up until I had my morning coffee. My coffee just fixed the day. I knew that because I am addicted to coffee.

I'm not one to discriminate against coffee. Some people have specific places they go for coffee. Examples include: Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and Panera. I don't care where I get my coffee from, I just need coffee in order to live.

Like Lorelai Gilmore says, "I need caffeine. Whatever form you've got. I haven't had any all day. I'll drink it, shoot it, eat it, snort it, whatever form it's in. Gimme!"

One order of coffee in an I.V for me today. I'll need it to survive my coffee addiction.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
