Over a week has passed since move in day, and there's one part of college that nobody can escape,no matter how much they procrastinate: Laundry. Sure you can wear clothing in the hamper that doesn't smell too bad, or has minimal stains on it. There's also the possibility of purchasing new clothes and underwear simply to avoid the task at hand (don't lie- if you haven't done it yet, it's been seriously considered at one point in time). Doing laundry in college is inevitable, and it always seems to go the same way....
It's Time- The hamper is overflowing, you're out of clean underwear, and you have a presentation tomorrow. It's time to face the music, grab those detergent pods, and go to the laundry room.
Why are there NO open machines?!?- It's 8:30 PM on a Thursday night. Don't people have homework, or lives to get to to? How can everyone be doing laundry at the same time?!?
To take out other people's stuff, or wait longer? That is the question- Nobody wants to be that person who takes out some random person's stuff because their machine has been done for five minutes, and it's a laundry emergency. If you're going to do it, please be nice and put it in a dryer, and leave a note or something. If people tend to take your stuff out of the washer to put theirs in, set an alarm next time.
First Wait- Your stuff is in the washer, you've set an alarm, and now have roughly 35 minutes to work on homework. Instagram also sounds like a good use of half an hour.... I choose Instagram.
Laundry Excursion part two: the dryer- You return to the laundry room when your alarm goes off (smart planning), only to realize that there are NO open dryers. Seriously? Again? Why do people not know how to come and get their laundry when it's done? However, halfway through your mental rant someone comes in and retrieves their laundry. Hallelujah.
The Conclusion- Finally your laundry is done, and you have been rewarded with clean clothes!!
!
...Except now you have to fold it...or not. It's college, you do you.
