Do you ever make a life-changing, earth-shattering discovery that you just want to shout from the mountain tops and inform everyone about? Well, I do. Trust me, you’ll like it.
I was sitting in the library with a friend one Sunday evening, “trying” to be productive. As I was scrolling through Facebook or Buzzfeed (it honestly could have been anything, it was all a social-media-distraction-blur), I came across this video:
So this man, Rhett Price, remixes pop songs with his violin. Ever since I heard this beautiful music, I can’t stop listening to it. Price is a violinist/songwriter who graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He doesn’t just cover songs. Price came out with his own album, titled "Kesha's Mom,"which displays his songwriting and violin skills simultaneously with his own pop-classical creations.
He debuted on iTunes Alterative EP Chart at number 10. The album was also number 12 on Billboard’s Classical crossover list, and number 27 on Billboard’s Classical list. A year ago, Price embarked on a 30-date tour around the country, sharing his unique music that you can’t help but love. His Facebook page has around 120k likes, and his YouTube channel has more than 44k subscribers. Clearly, I am not the only one who loves his sound.
Price’s music takes a modern twist on classical music, and he lets his violin do the talking. Even in his videos you can tell he is passionate about the music he makes. If you find yourself in a social-media-distraction-blur, go listen to his music. Don’t worry, I’ll consider it being productive.
