It is a time to be with loved ones and reflect on the year. A crucial part to this time of year is being able to sit down and watch a variety of holiday movies. Here are just a few of those that you really should check out (if you haven't already).

1. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

This is a classic christmas movie about the friendship between two misfits. Fun for the whole family.

2. The Year Without a Santa Claus

This is a wonderful movie that showcases just how much Christmas wouldn't be the same if Santa Clause wasn't around.

3. Santa Claus is Coming to Town

This film is a classic one that tells the story of how Santa Claus and other Christmas related tales came to fruition.

4. Home Alone

The classic Christmas comedy about the hijinks of one kid left home alone during Christmas is fun for the whole family.

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas

While some might consider this a Halloween movie, it is in fact one that should be enjoyed all year round.

6. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

This hilarious movie about a creature who despises Christmas spirit is a great choice for kids and adults alike.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
