Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. It is filled with glowing lights, family bonding, amazing gifts and of course, holiday cheer. Christmas day is the day a lot of people spend the entire year looking forward too. I am definitely one of those people. While Christmas is my favorite time, there are some struggles that come along with this holiday.
1. When you wake up on Christmas morning and realize what day it is.
2. Then, you run to the tree and get overwhelmed opening all the presents you received.
3. After opening all of your cool gifts, you realize you get no time to try them out because you have to go celebrate with your entire family.
4. Suddenly, you arrive at your family holiday function and are immediately bombarded with questions.
"How are your grades?"
"Are you dating anyone?"
"When do you graduate?"
5. Just as you're drowning in unwanted questions, your favorite cousin rolls up and suddenly, you are not alone.
6. You spend the next couple of hours eating, eating, and eating some more.
7. You begin to open the presents from your family. Of course, you get some really great stuff but you also get some stuff that you have to pretend to love.
8. Finally, you see your parents stand up and give you the signal that its time to go home.
9. You arrive back to your house and greet all your pets and presents that you have still yet to try out.
10. You try out all your presents and then, you climb into bed. All that social interaction has exhausted you. But then, you hear.....
11. Your mom calling for you to come help her put away decorations, straighten up and wash dishes.
12. But you ignore her and pretend to sleep.
In the end, you realize that you had an amazing Christmas regardless of the struggles that come with holidays filled with family. You also recognize how lucky you are and that you can't wait for Christmas to come around again next year.
