Now is that time of year where college kids go home for the holidays and are bombarded with questions by family asking "how was school?" "what is your GPA?" "boy you need to take more credit hours.." oh and you also don't know what you want for Christmas because you don't know how to say that you want everything. You're broke, jobless, and that one question is just to hard to answer. Christmas is not what it was when you were a kid let alone what it was a year ago. Now that you are in college you are magically an adult with big kid responsibilities.
Money is the #1 thing college students want for Christmas.
Yeah you really like that cute dress at the store or you want a gift card to your favorite restaurant, but nothing sounds more pleasing than a wad of cash. Cash is basically the answer for everything in your life for the moment and getting free cash sounds even better.
"What's your life plan after college"
Don't get me wrong, seeing family you haven't seen in a while is awesome, but now instead of asking how you are doing, the first thing they will ask you is "so, where do you see yourself in 10 years with that degree?" You can not give them a solid answer so you just blow off the question casually but you know some other relative will ask you the same exact thing.
Buying gifts just became 10x harder
Since your are a struggling college student, gifts seem like the last thing that is on your mind. Ya gotta do it though for the people you love and care about. It just sucks because you're broke and currently not employed anywhere.
Not feelin' that Christmas Spirit.
You are not feeling that Christmas feeling you used to get when you were younger and it makes you extremely sad. You had no time to get excited for Christmas because you had to study for those god awful finals that determine your future :)
You're nervous to find out your grades.
You spend the entirety of the Christmas holiday stressing about what grade you got in each class and your total GPA. It takes over and nothing seems more important than that damn GPA.
Netflix is a best friend now more than ever.
Since there is nothing to do on break which is completely fine with you, you start to watch a show on Netflix. That show becomes a part of your life and so do the characters... okay yes I am talking about me but it could happen to other college kids too.. so don't judge.
Being away from home made you realize how much of family time you took for granted.
Over the Christmas break, you start to revaluate the time you spend with your family because it's so precious.
Happy Holiday's to everyone, I hope you all have a safe and fun break!! Try not to stress too hard about school, take it easy will ya?! :)
