How Could A Christian Vote For Trump?

The results of this election have sent shock-waves across the country. It seems the majority of people were not expecting Donald Trump to win. I have seen many social media trashing Trump and his ideas in the past two days especially.

However, I believe the worst thing I saw was the attack on people who voted Trump. These people are being called racist, misogynist, anti-gay and other slurs that I will not name here. I have seen posts asking how Christians could vote for Trump. Here is how:

1). I Am Pro-Life

Hillary Clinton is not Pro-Life. She would allow--and supports--innocent children being killed. Need I say more? (Yes, fetuses are children.) Again, I am a Christian.

2). I Am Pro-Economy

Local businesses in my area are failing. Trump is promising tax cuts. We need those tax cuts. Trump has built a company, he's not perfect, but his plan for the economy is much better than Clinton's.

3). I Am Pro-Guns

I love the second amendment and Trump does too. That does not make me a back-woods hick.

4). I Am Pro-"Get up and do it yourself"

Welfare has gotten way out of hand. My tax dollars (in some instances, not all) go to fund people who piggy-back off the government.

Here is what I am not:

1). I Am Not Anti-Women

I am a woman! Women are awesome! I won't say anything about what Trump has been accused of...but have we forgotten how Hillary supported her husband through so many rape allegations?

2). I Am Not Racist

People, do not generalize. If you hate generalization, don't generalize me. I am called to love every person, and I do.

3). I Do Not Hate Gay People

I might not believe they are living a good lifestyle, but I do not hate gays. In fact, as a Christian, I am called to love every person.

4). I Am Not a Backwards, Rude, Un-Caring, Un-Loving, Un-Just, or Insane

Again with the generalizations thing.

5). I Am Not Okay With Sexual Abuse

I doubt there are any women who have never been cat-called at the very least. Here's the thing: Trump being president will not change that. Hillary being president would not change that. You can not change the minds of disgusting people who treat women (or men) like meat. I am so sorry if you have been sexually assaulted.

So in conclusion: I respect your opinion if it differs from mine. I respect you if you support Clinton. I respect you if you disagree with me. I simply ask you respect my opinion as well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
