The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is set to host Chris Young on his "I’m Coming Over" Tour on April 15. Young has been traveling the world since the beginning of his tour in October 2015. New venues and dates were added to extend the tour until 2016, starting again on January 21 in Lowell, Massachusetts and he plans to continue the tour until the middle of July.
If the extension into July wasn’t enough for fans, Young added even more stops around the country. Tuscaloosa is lucky enough to be one of those newly added destinations.
Former winner of "The Voice," Cassadee Pope, will be the first act each night before Chris Young takes the stage. Coincidentally, the two musicians are duet partners in Young’s second single, "Think of You."
The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater will be a familiar setting for the two performers. Back in the day, Chris Young accompanied Brad Paisley, opening for his tour in 2013 alongside Lee Brice. While Cassadee Pope was set to perform at the Amphitheater in with Rascal Flatts in 2013, her personal performance was canceled.
This country-loving college town has been attracting artists from the music industry to the town’s amphitheater. Singers like Brantley Gilbert with Thomas Rhett and Eric Paslay got the chance in 2014 to introduce their new, up and coming music to the local college kids and Tuscaloosa residents. Other performers like Rascal Flatts harmonized with the huge crowd to their multiple number-one hits in 2013.
Artists like Alabama, Neil Young, Darius Rucker and Alabama Shakes are reoccurring names you will see on Tuscaloosa Amphitheater’s website as past performers.
