Not a lot of celebrities are willing to get political. By being vocal about their opinions, they can risk not only their popularity but also their chance of getting jobs in the future.
Chris Evans (you may know him from a little franchise called Captain America) has thrown that all out the window, and it's amazing.
The 35-year-old actor is using his Twitter (@ChrisEvans) as a platform to criticize President-Elect Donald Trump. It started with a mournful tweet on election night:
This is an embarrassing night for America. We've let a hatemonger lead our great nation. We've let a bully set our course. I'm devastated.

Then, in response to Donald Trump's claim that he would have won New York, California, and Florida easily if he had bothered to campaign there, Evans criticized the electoral college:
Then put your money where your mouth is and help eliminate the electoral college. https://t.co/UdQ9hrx3zB

Is it just me, or is see the guy who plays Captain America promoting pure democracy really surreal?
Since the election, he's continued to call out Trump for fearmongering. He responded to an article refuting Donald Trump's claim that there was massive voter fraud by pointing out that a president needs to be honest:
'Without evidence'. U r the President Elect now. U must stop energizing lies. The time for campaign tactics is over. A leader must do better https://t.co/vLmWU73YQ6

And he's been pretty vocal about disagreeing with the people Trump is rumored to be giving jobs to, such as Steve Bannon who has been accused of racism in the past:
We're watching unabashed bigotry creep into the White House right before our eyes. This isn't about left vs right. It's about right vs wrong https://t.co/Qe8OUd0D3m

Once again, pretty surreal to see Captain America getting so angry about anti-Semitism.
And, of course, he's fighting Nazis as well:
This. Is. Appalling. This is NOT the America in which I believe. Why does Trump see fit to denounce SNL+Hamilton but not these supporters? https://t.co/EDW6ZIUWHs

If you look through the rest of his Twitter, you'll find him promoting his latest projects as well as promoting things his loved ones are working on. Plus, he has expressed support there for other things like Standing Rock and the fight to end cyberbullying:
Tell @POTUS to say #NoDAPL by signing the https://t.co/dQNr1DwUoT petition!!

So what do you think? Is Chris doing the right thing by using his fame to talk about politics? Or should he stay in his lane?
No more fear. Only hopeful optimism. I gonna let love be my guide. All my energy will now go towards protecting the rights of ALL Americans
