A Chink In The Wall

Trump and Isolationism

A Chink In The Wall

As I'm sure everyone knows, Trump has plans to build a wall on America's Southern Border with Mexico. The question is, how will this plan be implemented?

Trump has said that Mexico will pay for the wall. On numerous occasions, Trump had bragged that he will be able to make Mexico pay for the wall, but never laid out a plan to implement it. This vagueness could have been a tactic by Trump & Friends to keep their options open.

If this wall bypassed the nearly insurmountable mountain of legislation needed to be approved, I wouldn't have any idea on how we could get Mexico to build a barrier for themselves, but then, acting like a seasoned politician from New York, Trump changes his policies.

I spoke with a source who isn't a fan of media or women (Lewandowski perhaps?) and they told me Trump now plans to have Mexican-Americans build this wall. When I thought about this little tweak, I shuddered a bit.

The reason for the worry is that this plan might actually work. If the construction jobs for this wall were given to Americans, jobs would be created. This wall would then bolster our nation's defenses while also limiting the flow of drugs and other contraband through our country's Southwest corridor.

If the wall is actually built, that will send a message not only to Mexico, but to the rest of the world. The message would be, "America Out."

I thought the days of Isolationism were behind us; the days where children slept in cars, slowly dying from starvation and hypothermia; the good ole days.

America is no longer in a position to be completely self-sustained, as much as the Cheeto with a wig on might think so. To say let's make America great again is like saying let's make Hilary Clinton likable again; it is probably not going to happen.

Besides, where is the Prince of Orange going to get the ingredients for his famous taco salads? Illegal Mexican Immigrants (Hispanics to Trump) come from Mexico, after all.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
