At some point during the middle of the night the world as we knew it changed. It happened so subtly that many never noticed its effects. Life will never be the same. Chick-fil-A unveiled their new line of sauces, single-handedly destroying the lunch routine of many.

Amanda Norris, the senior director of product development, said “We know customers are really passionate about our sauces, and Chick-fil-A is always looking to enhance its menu options to better suit our guests,” Well “enhance” their sauces they did. No longer can we get a simple buffalo or ranch, no we are forced to eat these modified sauces.

The first beloved dressing to fall victim to this so-called improvement is the classic and well-respected ranch dressing. The creamy goodness of the buttermilk ranch that we know and love is now infused with garlic, onions, and other herbs. This new sauce was first noticed by a self-titled connoisseur, Mr. Grant Collins of Oklahoma after he dipped his chicken into the ranch and noticed a garlic taste. Completely caught off guard, his sauce world was turned upside down. Chick-fil-A had no mention of the sauce change on their menu leaving him to fall victim to this tragedy.

Along with the beautiful and savory ranch dressing (RIP ranch) the geniuses at Chick-fil-A decided to tweak the buffalo sauce. The sauce at first glance and taste might fool you. It’s a very subtle change, but an alteration to the recipe none the less. It’s described as being “thicker and spicier”. The orange color is off. At first, I thought maybe my pack was just off, but then I noticed the word “Zesty” that appeared on the label. That was when I knew that everything had changed. My world was falling apart. I grabbed my ranch to check if it had been tampered with and sure enough I saw the “Garlic & Herb Ranch”. My favorite combination with my 8 count nuggets was Buffalo and Ranch, but the days of harmony are long gone.

Another sauce lost to the memories of our naive minds is the BBQ sauce. Someone in Atlanta decided to take the opportunity to turn this sauce into a Smokehouse BBQ. This sauce is a sin to all BBQ lovers, at least if you love Memphis or North Carolina BBQ. It has no spice, no tang, no bite. It is disappointing. My taste buds did not jump for joy. While this sauce disappoints, I had no hope or remorse because their previous BBQ was not worth getting in the first place.

During this horror movie of 2016, Chick-fil-A did release a new sauce, one that paired with some nugs will change lunch forever. Their Sweet & Spicy Sriracha sauce is magnificent. It is the perfect addition to any nugget lover’s meal. It is the kick that you need and the sweetness you crave. This may be the only good thing to come from the nightmare that has ensued from this new unveiling. Sauce lovers beware, Chick-fil-A has declared war on your taste buds.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
