As the spring semester is winding down, I can't help but be a little sad that I only have one semester of college left. Even after changing my major a dozen times, I somehow managed to pull out enough hours so that I can graduate an entire semester early—I think this has to be some kind of record. And while I am stressed that I have few (and by few, I mean zero) prospects for a job and am terrified of ending up living in a relative's basement, I am excited for the next chapter of my life because let's face it, college is hard.
If you're graduating in the coming weeks, I'm sure you understand how I'm feeling. But lucky for me and for those opting for a victory lap, there is one more semester to live the good life. So cheers to the random Wednesdays I hope I'll drag myself out on. Cheers to the laughs with friends about all of the horrible decisions we made freshman year and how we can't believe how brave we were. Cheers to one more football season that will hopefully lead to a championship. Cheers to Saturday tailgates with friends and beating everyone at flip cup. Cheers to more wine nights with my roommates and fewer nights slaving over a textbook.
Cheers to old friends, new beginnings, and what's left to come. Cheers to my last fall formal with cheesy pictures. Cheers to one more summer in the best apartment I could have ever dreamed of, despite the noisy neighbors. Cheers to one more semester of bad playlists, cheap beer and excuses to eat greasy food. Cheers to all the times I'll look at pictures from high school or freshman year and wonder, “What was their name again?" Because when you're a freshman, every person you meet is your instant BFF. Cheers to hopefully finding a job and fulfilling my dreams.
Cheers to the memories we made in the past three years, and cheers to making one semester more. Cheers to having the greatest two best friends I could have ever dreamed of and for one more semester of them keeping me from falling asleep at 10 p.m. Cheers to going through recruitment one more time and helping 2,000 PNMs find their home. Also, cheers to it being my very last recruitment. Cheers to one more semester with my pledge class and the laughter they radiate.
Cheers to graduating and never having to study for a test again. College, you have served me well the past three years. Let's do one more semester, and go out with a bang.
