Cheekbones And Why They're Important

Cheekbones. Is there anything greater that can even begin to compare? Cheekbones are probably one of the main characteristics in many different ships and fandoms.

Exhibit A: Johnlock

Here you see John Watson attempting not to swoon over Sherlock's bone structure. Obviously, he is failing.

Exhibit B: Merthur

This isn't just a Merthur thing, but a Brolin thing. In this gif, Bradley James (Arthur Pendragon) points out that Colin's (Merlin) cheekbones are (and I quote) "kicking right off on this shot, mate." To this, Colin smoothly comes back with, " Are they? You liking them?" Typical seduction tactic using cheekbones.

Exhibit C: This Guy From "Game of Thrones"

I don't watch "Game of Thrones" (I want to start it, but I'm currently bingeing on "Supernatural"), but I came across this guy (Tyrion, I believe) admiring this woman's cheekbones. The context alludes me ,but you get the picture. Even in a cut-throat kingdom, the best weapon is your cheekbones.

Exhibit D. Maleficent

I don't think this villain would be half as visually interesting without those prominent cheekbones. They both add to her "evil aura" and accentuate her ethereal beauty.
