Okay, we have all heard it before, college students are broke. But I think whats harder is when you run out of foundation and you are cringing to run to Ulta or Sephora to drop another $30-40 for another bottle. Whats worse is that's $30 coming out of your food fund.
So how can you still get that flawless glam look but on a budget? I'm going to lay out a makeup budget for your main beauty products that tend to run out quicker than let's say an eyeshadow palette. So here's your $25 budget for the main makeup products that may run out the quickest. By the way, all these drugstore products can compete with the luxury brand products on the market. Drug store make-ups have stepped up their game so don't knock it till you try it!
So here goes, $25:
1. Face Products
PRIMER: Elf Cosmetics Poreless Face Primer $6.00
FOUNDATION: Elf Flawless Finish SPF 15 $6.00
OR
Maybeline FIT Me Foundation $5.99 at Target
These are my personal favorites that I have recently tried but there is also a popular product called Milani which carries a more expensive foundation that's priced around $7 depending on where you purchase it from. Elf and Maybelline have always been solid products and depending on whether you have oily or dry skin it could vary on what works best for you.
About $13.00 left...
2. Eye Products
Now some of these products are my personal preference and everyone has different products they enjoy using but for those of you with similar likes then these can be added to your list.
Eyeliner: Elf Intense Ink Liner $3.00
If I'm going full glam then I'm going to want a crisp wing that could pretty much cut glass. Sometimes this product can be hard to track down so I have to substitute but I love the tip on the end of this product because it can create such a clean line.
Under Eye Concealer: NYX Photo Concealer $4.99
Unfortunately, this product doesn't last very long but it depends on how much you like to use or if you even like to use any.
About $21.00 left...
3. Beauty Blenders: $4.50 at Kohls
Around $25-27 spent...
Please don't neglect getting a new beauty blender every now and then. These little guys are super cheap and every so often I purchase a new one. Beauty blenders get filthy so easily and being in college you don't always have the time to sit there and clean brushes and blenders every night. So having a few extra laying around can't hurt.
So we went over the $25 mark but keep in mind that thats about $27 with tax you are spending on products that will last you months. In my experience, the FIT Me foundation will last me almost up to 2-3 months of use and an eyeliner pen will last basically for months depending on how often it gets used. I don't find myself running to the store to buy a new eyeshadow palette or a new mascara tube.
These items listed are my most common "run outs" and you can easily save some coin when refilling. I can normally go at least a semester and a half with these products and these are the ones that run out quickest. Another side note is that I do not wear makeup every single day so these can sometimes even last longer.
