Change Is What This World Needs

What would this world look like with a little more? More love, more kindness, and more compassion. It is not that our world lacks these traits, it just seems to be out weighted by negativity. Underneath, this is a matter about the human heart, and we all have that in common -- at least in a slight way.

Just like the normal Joe culturally agrees on somethings in life, like certain theater ques, we all have at least an inkling to love others. Even if externally there are no signs that indict.

To start, what if we treated every person like they mattered. Sure, all of the horrible events that have been happening lately have motives behind them, but in reality we can’t change the motives of what has already occurred.

What we can do is be what we are: human.

To be human means to love. If we are going to act on this human characteristic, why should we limit ourselves? Go big or go home!

Think about how different this world would be with more love. We could live in an atmosphere that contained less negativity. We would be able to express ourselves, not only legally free, but in the social sphere too.

There are a lot of ways that we can point our fingers, but that is NOT going to change anything.

The world needs change if we are going to avoid falling apart. So stop blaming different social groups, political leaders and all of the other things, and take a step in fighting the evil that is stewing in this world!

It may not be easy as one, two, thee, but just like a spoon full of sugar, a little goes a long way.

Contribution to this cause can be supporting a country that has been attacked, like Paris or Berlin, or supporting a community in your own country, like Orlando. These events that have occurred out of outrage, mental illness, or attack of the country are no light matter.

Hope for change is in the air though. Confirmation of this is complete by the fact that people are responding to these tragedies. It is this care that is changing the world a small fraction at a time. But why do we have to wait for something tragic to happen to start banding together?

What about all of the smaller scale injustices that happen every week? The things like citizen murders without a seen cause, or robberies that leave the store owners in great despair.

Nothing is going to change overnight, but it is the baby steps added together that makes a footprint which has the power to make an impact.

At first the impact might not be big, but if everyone combines their little differences, the outcome will surprise us all.

So go ahead and smile at the grumpy bank teller, tip the young waitress, and applaud the youthful performer. Actions speak louder than words, but words said in the right order can leave a lasting impact.

You don’t know what people are going through day to day. The little positive attention that you give them might not mean much to you, but to that person, it kept their world turning for that much longer!

I wish just like you that the world was a perfect place without sadness and pain, but it isn’t. It is our job as humans to live our lives in a way that will contribute to history in a different way. What if the next headlines were about the difference makers and not about a horrific event for a change?

That is when we see the baby steps come together to make an impacting foot print. Go out and challenge yourself to spread your wings, for tomorrow will be better because if it.

Love is a powerful weapon that we have, and always will have. Get out there and USE it!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
