In life and nature, everything changes. The sun sets and changes to the moon. Seasons change throughout the year. Seconds change into minutes and then into hours. Change is natural. It's common. So why do we, as people, act like it's such a bad thing?
There has probably been a point in your life where someone you have been close with has said, "You've changed..." The phrase is often associated with a moving on or lack of a connection that was once there. While it's understandable that drifting apart from people you were once close with is hard, it doesn't have to be a bad thing.
Change, despite what you've heard or grown up to believe, can be a good thing. As we grow older, we have more experiences in life and with people. We learn more about who we are as individuals. Our views shift and transform as we experience moments.
As we grow and change, we leave things. Parts of ourselves are left behind in each moment. If someone is limiting you from changing into something better, then you should reevaluate your worth to them.
We teach kids from a young age about change. Themes surrounding the subject are in children's movies such as "The Lion King" and "Inside Out." We show them that change is good. Why do we stop sending that message when they get older? Why do they stop sending that message to each other?
Yes, change is good. But it can also be scary.
