Change. This is one of the hardest things we face as humans. Whether it is something small, like dinner plans, or something major, like moving halfway across the world, it is sometimes hard to grasp the concept of change. However, change can be good.
With change comes a new perspective. During times of change, there are opportunities to grow and see things from a new point of view. Over the summer, I resigned from my very first job and started working somewhere that was completely opposite. At first, I was scared. I had never left my comfort zone that I had only ever known to try something new and different. The very first day at my new job sucked. I felt like I was inadequate compared to others who worked there; however, after about three weeks I was working just as fast as the ones who had been there longer than I. This job helped me realize that change helped me gain a new perspective on my comfort zone.
Change also brings new people into your life. When my husband and I moved to Gainesville this year, it was kind of scary at first. Being on our own and 40 minutes from any family was hard, considering we grew up within 15-20 minutes from them. Once the semester started at Brenau, though, we immediately met welcoming friends, who we soon found out were our neighbors as well. Our move to Gainesville gave us lifelong friends.
Change can bring stress, trouble, and confusion, but it can also bring newness, and a way to sort of "start over". So, if you find yourself in a time of change, always remember to think positive and see what good it has to offer.
