I guess when I was filling out my college applications it never really struck me how hard it must be for a kid to be away from their parents. Until now, my college was only 45 minutes away from my house, if I wanted to, I could go home at any time. But now, my college is 2500 miles from home. Sure it’s nice to say I live in California, but in all reality home is where the heart is. Even though my family left for California, my heart will always reside in Connecticut, the tiny Constitution state. But that’s not the point to address here, the point is, exactly how hard or easy could it be for someone to live 2000 miles from their parents? Especially as a college student. Here are a few disputable reasons.
1. Freedom

2. Being an adult
It’s all fun and games until you realize you have to schedule your own doctor’s appointments and do your own takes. No more bringing your mom or your dad to your pediatrician…
3.Facing hardships

4. Money

5. Groceries

6. Bullies

Who will we go to when we have trouble with someone at work or in school?
7. Paying bills

Using electricity in your parent’s house was a luxury, what the heck did we care about how much it costed? But living on our own we will care.
8. Planning

9. Upkeep

10. Cleaning

11.Sleepovers

Being on your own means exactly as it sounds, you can have who you want over when you want. So to those reading this, party up.
