Did MTV stage the finale for ratings?

The Challenge: Rivals 3 Finale

If you have yet to see the finale of The Challenge: Rivals 3, you're in for a not so shocking plot twist.

Warning- the rest of this article contains spoilers of the finale.

The three final teams who completed the final challenge were Devin and Cheyenne, Vince and Jenna, and Johnny Bananas and Sarah.

If you have been watching the whole season, you may have a no-brainer assumption of who most likely won this season.

Johnny Bananas.

That's right, Johnny and Sarah together did not take the $275,000 and split the winnings, Johnny took the whole of the winnings.

The producers of the show decided to put in a last minute plot twist, that not only would the rival teams be competing against each other, but the rivals within the teams would be competing against themselves as well. Whichever three people racked up the most points, could then decide if they wanted to split the winning money with their partner/rival in the end.

While Devin split his money with Cheyenne, and Vince did with Jenna, Johnny was the only one to not do so with Sarah.

This doesn't come off too much as a surprise for many, knowing Sarah and Banana's history, and Banana's more or less selfish personality throughout all the seasons of the show.

The real question is, would MTV really let Bananas go home with $275,000 and Sarah with $0?

With a good, juicy story behind the relationship between the two rivals and with them being in the final, it seems like MTV could have put in this plot twist for ratings, not only so people could tune in for the last episode, but for people to watch the after show in which all the rival teams meet up again to discuss the season.

Bananas and Sarah were the dream team this season, dominating almost every challenge and never being sent into the jungle. Without each other, they most likely wouldn't have gotten to the final.

It doesn't seem like MTV would just let Sarah, who worked really hard in these challenges, go home with $0, meanwhile Devin and Cheyenne, who let's face it, were only in the final by pure luck, go home with $25,000. ($12,500 each)

We may never know whether or not it was a set-up for ratings or not, but most people will agree that Johnny Banana's move was the shadiest contestants of all Challenge and reality T.V. history.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
