Why Carrie Bradshaw’s Life Is Completely Unrealistic.

I remember the first time I watched "Sex and The City." I was with my best friend in her basement flipping through the TV channels when I came across the show. After watching just a few episodes, I fell in love with Carrie Bradshaw. I loved her life, her friends, her clothing and her job. I was only just starting high school at the time, but I knew I wanted to be her. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized how unrealistic her life was. I knew her life wasn’t real, I knew she was just a fictional character in a hit TV show. However, I genuinely thought one day I could be just like her. That said, here is a list of completely unrealistic and kind of annoying traits about her.

2. Walking around New York City in heels.

As someone who has tried to do this (note: I am

100 percent guilty on this one), it always turns out to be a complete disaster. One of two things always seem to happen: Your shoes are completely ruined, or your feet are covered in blisters and even wearing flats becomes unbearable.

2. Her shoes

While we’re on the topic of her shoes, the sheer fact she owns so many designer shoes is insane. Carries favorite shoes, Manolo Blahnik start at $595 and can go up to about $3,500 depending on the material. The fact that the show was filmed in the late 90s the pricing may differ. However, paying hundreds and thousands of dollars on shoes is ridiculous.

3. Her apartment

The fact that she lives in this large luxurious studio apartment is unreal, the place is HUGE for a normal New York apartment. To anyone looking for a studio apartment in New York, it looks nothing like this:

...but a lot more like this

4. Her Job

Carrie Bradshaw is a journalist. She is a writer at Vogue and has written a few books about love. Her job at Vogue is realistic, being a writer at Vogue is hard, but if you have the right amount of experience and are a good writer, it’s not unrealistic. However, the fact she is an author that writes about love is kind of comical, simply for the fact that her love life is a mess.

5. Big

In the six season series, Carrie dates a man who she constantly is on and off with named Big. In the series finale, Carrie is dating the Russian artist she moved to Paris for. At the end of the episode, we see Big appear; he and Carrie get back together for one big happy ending to the show. However, the creator of the show, Darren Star, in a recent interview stated he was displeased how the show ended. Star didn't write the last season of the series and, according to "Us Weekly," Star said, “unless you're there to write every episode, you're not going to get the ending you want." Big and Carrie should never have ended up together. Their relationship was just too toxic and if this was happening in real life they would have broken up and stayed broken up seasons ago.

Carrie Bradshaw is still one of my favorite TV characters, but she is no longer someone I want to be because her life isn't as perfect as it first appears.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
