A new trailer for the highly praised "Star Wars: Episode VII" was released last week, and boy does it scream excitement. If you aren't a big fan of the series or story behind "Star Wars," I highly recommend getting into this generational cinematic adventure, especially with all the craze over the brand new trilogy. If you haven't seen it, here is a link to the trailer at the, so make sure to check that out.
Back to the new trailer reaction.
There is a lot going on here. First, we all witness a brief backstory on each of the new characters: Rey, Finn, and the seemingly new villain, Kylo Ren. After seeing and envisioning their "point of views," we get what we want to see in a movie trailer...action. Man, is there a lot of action portrayed in such a short amount of time. So many scenes in this brief promo show snippets of high flying combat that bring us viewers good anxiety and high-strung excitement for the movie.
As a die heart fan of the saga, I'm fricking ecstatic. On a scale from 1 to Mars, my excitement is to Tatooine - get it? My initial reaction was through the roof watching the trailer. Now, after engulging myself in it for numerous times, I've noticed some things that the trailer might leak or hint to certain characters. It's fun to mend different conspiracy theories, but this could give a decent head scratcher.
The thing I noticed, not only after watching this trailer, but the other ones that came out before hand. Why haven't we seen Luke Skywalker in any of the previews? A main component of the original series, has not been seen once in any of the new trilogies' trailers. The conspiracy is out that he might actually be Kylo Ren. (What? Luke...a villain? You can't be serious.) Let's look at it like this -- have you actually seen the face of the supposed new villain? Makes you wonder why you actually haven't seen any part of a massive character in the original saga unless we secretly have and we just didn't put two and two together. Another thing in the trailer that speaks volumes is that you see Rey crying for a split second after what looks like grieving a death. Who dies? Luke? Leia? Chewy? R2D2?
There's just too much to think, to say, and to even do emotionally about the new movies coming out. If you are a lifetime fan like me, you have to be jumping out of your cockpits for this refreshed portrayal and continuation of this generational film. No matter what age you are, these new movies will take it to the bank and you can guarantee that. No doubt will this be the movie of 2015.
