Superstar Wyoming wrestler Bryce Meredith made national headlines with impressive performances at the NCAA, where he placed 2nd at the championship most recently.
However, despite capturing the attention of Wyoming's masses, Meredith has shown himself to be rather problematic. Not only does his education on social justice fall flat, he actively attacks causes and chooses not to inform himself on the issues. The University of Wyoming continues to parade Meredith as its star athlete, despite having graduated in 2018, but what message does that send to underrepresented students and other wrestling hopefuls?
With an Adidas partnership under his belt and his claims to being a 2020 Olympic Games hopeful, here are the top 10 reasons Bryce Meredith does not deserve our adoration:
He STILL uses "gay" as a slur.

He wants to be removed from his white privilege.

He believes men and women have fundamental differences.

He believes "transraciality" is a legitimate concept.

He justified intervention in the Middle East because of xenophobic notions of Islam.

He does not understand sexism.

He does not accept transgender individuals.

No, like, he REALLY doesn't accept them.

He thinks white people "stopped" slavery.

He feels threatened by income equality.
