Some of my favorite brunch spots in Harrisonburg

Harrisonburg has a lot to offer. It may seem like just a rural college town, but there is more than meets the eye. Downtown Harrisonburg has so many awesome places to eat, as Virginia’s first culinary district. During my senior year I took advantage of the unique eateries downtown and as a recent grad *cue tears* I have found some great places to enjoy in the Burg, specifically for brunch. I love brunch, and I mean who doesn’t?! Brunch is a fun way to experiment outside of traditional breakfast foods and gives you and your squad an excuse to hang out. It is also an excuse to get a little boozey in the a.m. I have not been to every brunch place downtown, but here are some of my favorites that I have tried.

Earth & Tea Café

Want to start off your morning in a Zen environment? Look no further than Earth & Tea café. Not only do they offer an extensive list of great teas and coffees, they serve delicious brunch dishes that are the perfect pairing with an exotic tea. All of their dishes feature locally-sourced fruits as well. You will leave Earth & Tea full and relaxed; ready to take on the day!

The Golden Pony

Saddle up for some mouth-watering brunch at The Golden Pony! They offer brunch so good, it’s available on both Saturday and Sunday from 9am-2pm. The Golden Pony offers tofu items as meat-less options, waffles with a plethora of toppings, and amazing sides.

Food.Bar.Food

Known as global comfort foot, Food.Bar.Food has an eclectic brunch menu that features dishes and ingredients from all types of cuisines. They offer unique brunch plates and brunch bowls. Each dish incorporates bold flavors and ingredients ranging from sweet to savory to spicy. Food.Bar.Food is also known for their amazing culinary cocktails. They use unexpected combinations to create their cocktails. Some fan-favorites come from their extensive list of Bloody Marys.

The Little Grill Collective

Voted Best Brunch spot in The Breeze’s Best of the Burg poll, Little Grill is definite fan-favorite! They make just about everything from scratch and source as many local products and ingredients as they can. They are famous for our made-from-scratch pancakes. There are so many flavors to choose from, and there are always 2 pancakes on the menu that change seasonally- so there's always something new to try.
