I don’t know about you, but I just spent the last three weeks binge watching Gilmore Girls seasons one through seven in preparation for the new season coming to Netflix some time in the next few months. Though the official release date has yet to be announced, we’re still giddy with anticipation for the coming four-episode miniseries. Need a little boost to get your excitement up to Lorelai-in-the-snow level? Here are 5 reasons to be pumped.

1. Nearly all of our favorite (and least favorite) characters are back!

Unless you’ve been living in a world where there’s no Internet, you know that with the exception of Melissa McCarthy reprising her iconic role as Sookie and Edward Hermann who passed away back in 2014, all of our favorite characters are back in action for the Netflix revival. Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Emily, Jess, Dean, Logan, April, and more are all featured in at least one episode!

2. It’s all a surprise!

The show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, has kept the plot of the new season under wraps, so watching each episode is going to be like opening a bag of takeout from Al’s Pancake World on International Food Night.

3. Binge eating while you binge watch!

If you’ve seen Gilmore Girls, you know that Rory and Lorelai have the most ridiculous diets known to man. Since there are only four 90-minute episodes, there’s nothing stopping you from matching their sugar-filled meals while you watch. Get the Pop Tarts ready, everybody, because the Girls are back!

4. The fashion.

Oh my, the fashion! We all know Lorelai’s got her own unique sense of style, and if the show runners know what’s good for them, they’ll be sure to keep it that way. Get ready for an updated version of tie-dye tee’s and cutoffs!

5. Luuuuke!

Gilmore Girls fans across the globe are dying to know what ended up happening between Luke and Lorelai. We know he’s back and running the diner as always, we just don’t know what’s in store for the pair romantically! We’re all praying that Sherman-Palladino is willing to find the right wormhole that will bring Luke and Lorelai together at last.
