Breweries are a fun place go and grab a drink. They are even more fun when you can take your dog, play games, grab some good food, or listen to some good live music. Three breweries come to mind around Tampa as places that offer such things, along with having a great selection of beer.
From malty porters and stouts, to light blonde ales, each one of these three breweries has the right hops to leave your taste buds wanting a second draft. They each offer something unique, take a visit to one of the following and choose from yourself.
Cigar City Brewery
Best known for it’s hoppy Jai Alai brew. This crafted ale from Cigar City is found in many local bars and stores across the country. It has an intriguing blend of citrus and hops that leaves your taste buds wanting a second pint.
Cigar city offers a variety of great beer, just like the Jai Alai, but even better than the better, is the atmosphere. There are a few Cigar City brewery locations, but the one on Spruce street in Tampa is the best as far as atmosphere goes. If you are looking for a great place to hang out and have a beer with your dog, some friends, a great food truck, and shuffle board, this is your place.
The atmosphere in this brewery is calm and welcoming and it is displayed by the staff that work there. If feels like a local bar that draws in a big crowd. You can smell that beer has been brewing all day, and it is the perfect setting to sit down after a crazy day and have a few laughs.
3 Daughters Brewery
3 Daughters Brewery is not located in Tampa, but it is located just a short drive across the bridge to St. Pete. 3 Daughters offers the best mix of everything that you want in a brewery. There set up offers indoor and outdoor lounging. Inside there is a large bar that is easy to order drinks from, and plenty of seating if you want to break out a board game while drinking one of their most popular beers, the Bleach Blonde Ale.
The other half of the brewery is set up like a warehouse. No air conditioning, however, they keep fans running and there is plenty to do to keep your mind off the heat. From darts, to foosball, supersize jenga to supersize connect 4, there are plenty of activities to do while you enjoy the atmosphere of this unique brewery.
The warehouse set up is open and inviting. There is a large stage in the corner that lights up on nights where they have local bands come out to play a set. Dogs and large groups are welcome here. There is plenty of space so that you never feel too crowded. It is by far my favorite place to go with a group of friends.
SixTen Brewery
Smaller, and not as well known, this neighborhood brewery offers a variety of interesting beers with some guest taps as well. The brewery is small and offers a local feeling. They are dog friendly, and in fact, a dog actually lives there. This brewery is by far the most accommodating for K-9s.
They have water bowls ready for dogs that come in, and are always stocked with treats. They have a variety of board games that are available to play while you enjoy your stay. The staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable about beer to offer you any recommendations.
