Recently, the famous RuPaul's Drag Race: Battle of the Seasons Tour, didn't stop or cancel their show in North Carolina. Many drag performers have as they are afraid of not just discriminatory actions but also, violence. While the reality queens are known to be a little sassy, ambitious, determined, and sweet, they all truly won our hearts again in posting the picture seen below on social media.

Why is this such a big deal, anyways? It's just a picture, right? Well, while it may look like simply a picture; it's advocating. It's showing that members of the LGBTQIA+ community have allies, in their time of need. It's showing that there is allies that are willing to do a protest style sit-in and fight for members for our community. House Bill Two, also known as HB2, also more commonly referred to as "The Bathroom Bill" states that people must use restrooms based on their biological sex.

This meaning that it is putting transgendered, non binary, and other members of the LGBTQ+ community in highly uncomfortable situations. While Stonewall Riots were forty-six years ago, we are having another Stonewall Riot- the legal system is still brutally bullying the LGBTQIA+ community, once again. Like 46 years ago- not only will we not stand for it, we won't let them push us down. As people, we are more than just LGBT+, we are people and at this time, the LGBTQIA+ community needs allies and support from all individuals regardless, of sexuality and gender. As people are being put into consistent dangerous situations in public, now is a better time than ever to show public support for the community and those facing these horrendous situations due to congressional bills.

Like nearly 47 years ago, when the Stonewall riots took place we need to give our never-ending support to the LGBTQ+ community.

Today, however, we have new means of social media to showcase to the world what we're doing, unlike in 1969. So; sit-ins, protests, and other non-violent means of fighting back- may be necessary to take place in order to fight for rights. You can help by a simple tweet, just showing your support to those in these horrendous situations or, go to http://www.globalally.org, https://equalitync.org/action/repeal_HB2/, https://action.aclu.org/secure/NC-repeal-HB2, or check out other varying platforms on Facebook or Twitter to show your support at this time.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
