Breakfast is great. You can have for breakfast, for dinner, for lunch, for a midnight snack...the list goes on. People seem to have a sort of love affair with breakfast. (I don't know, maybe it's just me, but those scrambled eggs I just had for dinner truly makes me believe that love exists). I have come to the belief that breakfast foods can be representative of those we have loved and lost--those that we have dated. Here is a list of some of our favorite breakfast foods if there were people we have dated.

1. Bacon and eggs

Bacon and eggs traditional. They are who makes you feel full. They make you feel your strongest, best, and most nourished self. Bacon and eggs might be the one. Or they are the one that got away. The one whom you’ll never be able to get over. Your love for bacon and eggs is pure—it’s easy. Even though what you have is simple, there is always enough excitement and possible combinations for change and adventure that you are never bored. Bacon and eggs is home.

2. Pancakes

Something was so appealing about pancakes. Something romantic. You always fantasized about them, but nothing every happened between you two. You’d never choose pancakes in a pinch. They aren’t your #1 go-to breakfast item. Pancakes would always flirt with you at parties but you never ended up actually going home together. They are that wish you never really fulfilled. But deep down, you never really wanted to go there anyways.

3. Toast

Toast was quick. They were easy and available at any time, but they were boring. There is only so much you can do with toast. Sure, it’s reliable but they are never really truly satisfying. You always wanted something different. Something more exciting. Toast is dull and boring and just fills time before you find something better.

4. Granola and Yogurt

You turn to granola and yogurt on a health kick. It’s that cute person you met on the off chance you were at the gym. You were struck with granola and yogurt because you felt as though you could be this bigger, better, faster, and stronger version of yourself. They’d help you get there. When they made you start flirting with kale, everything became undone and you realized that they weren’t the solution to your issues. You felt as though it was working, but in the end you had to end it. They were just a quick fix to something that needed time to heal.

5. Cereal

The most reliable significant other that you have ever had. Cereal was whatever you wanted cereal to be. They were always meeting your needs and adapting themselves to meet those needs. Having cereal all of the time made you feel a little bit restless. They left you wondering if there were something more interesting or appealing out there. You left cereal knowing full well that you could always go back if you needed to.

6. Breakfast Burrito

Breakfast burrito comes into your life at your lowest point. They were the call you always made when you were sad. For a little while they made you feel great—truly better than before. But afterwards, you’d always feel worse. Instant regret. But for some reason, you kept going back because the highs were so incredibly good. You could somewhat rationalize the intense post-burrito lows.

7. Cold Leftover Pizza

We all have a first love. It is so irrational and doesn’t make sense to just about anyone but you. It’s reckless and crazy, but you’d do just about anything for it. It feels wrong but so so right. Disapproval and judgment from others would never keep you apart. That love was cold leftover pizza.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
