My Boyfriend Is My Best Friend

My Boyfriend Is My Best Friend

My boyfriend and I weren't the kind of couple that were "best friends before dating." Actually, if I can remember right, it was maybe nine months to a year before I considered him my best friend. I'm not talking about how you call all of your friends your "best friend." I'm talking about the one friend you don't know what you would do without. It's okay for your boyfriend to be your best friend and I have a numerous reasons to why he is mine but here are just a few:

1. He is trustworthy

If I had to, I know I could trust him with my life. That's not all I'm talking about though, I can trust him with my personal feelings, things that are on the "DL" and just about anything else. Also, I trust him to not talk bad about me behind my back, although I don't event think guys do that in the first place, unlike us girls.

2. We're silly

We can be laying around watching prank or fail videos for hours and be laughing so hard we can't stop (or at least me because that's what usually happens). My boyfriend loves to scare me, we can be watching a movie and he will yell "BOO!" and I'll jump and yell "Bran, really?!", it almost never fails. He annoys me 24/7 but we always end up laughing about it two seconds later.

3. "The crazy couple"

Brandon, my boyfriend, got me into pc gaming. I'm not as good or interested in it as him but I still enjoy it. After months of telling him to be quiet, calm down, and even some mean things were said, I finally got just as excited as him one day. I can't remember it all, but I think I was the last person alive and I got a head shot somehow and we both started yelling "OOHHH" in a house full of other people probably trying to sleep. We're not really into sports, but that night, I felt like the crazy couple at the game on the big screen. Its fun to be yourself and act crazy and not trying to impress your guy or feel awkward when you are yourself.

4. Comfortable

The awkwardness in our relationship isn't there and that probably comes from us being so close and best friends. Before we became so close, I couldn't even sing in front of him without feeling weird and my face getting red. I have seen his good, bad, and awkward side through out these two and a half years, he has nothing on me. It's nice to be able to be yourself and feel comfortable doing it, especially when they're just as silly as you.

5. Best of both worlds

Having a boyfriend who is also your best friend is honestly so fun. He can be caring and sweet one minute and have you cracking up the next. There are really two people who know you better than anyone else does, your best friend and your significant other. When its a two-in-one deal, you can't go wrong. You can be spontaneous and go on all kinds of adventures the way you would want to do with your best friend but still feel safe and loved the way your significant other should make you feel.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
