13 Reasons To Have A Boy Best Friend

Other girls have always told me that boy best friends are better to have than girl best friends. I grew up always having girl best friends until my freshman year of college, when I met my first boy best friend. Once I met my boy best friend, I understood why it is so much better to have a boy best friend than a girl best friend. There are a few things that happen when you have a boy best friend that just don't happen to girls without boy best friends.

1. People constantly ask if you are romantically involved

"Are y'all dating?" This is the question that is guaranteed to be asked by family and friends, no matter what (maybe you've even dated before, but have settled for the BFF life).

2. You always have someone to talk to about girl drama

Your boy best friend can give you an outsider's advice on catfights with your girlfriends (not that he will know what to do about it).

3. You can take turns buying things

He doesn't always have to pay just because he's the guy. Take turns; it's OK to pay for your boy best friend's food or movie ticket sometimes.

4. You have someone to bring home from college on the weekend

My boy best friend is from the other side of the country, so it's always fun for both of us to get away from campus for a while and make a weekend trip to my hometown.

5. He becomes a part of the family

Just like a girl best friend, my boy best friend has become a part of my family. He is able to hang out with my brother and dad, while I'm enjoying time with my mom and sisters during a girls day!

6. There is always a sense of BFF-uneasiness when there is another girl involved

He was my best friend before he was your girlfriend.

7. You can help with his girl drama

Just like he can help with boy drama, you can give him some insight to the mind of a girl.

8. You find yourselves doing things that couples do

There's nothing wrong with a date night or letting your boy best friend pay for your food a couple of times.

9. And boy drama

He's also there to listen to you talk about your dates gone wrong and your budding relationships, and he can occasionally give you advice from a guy's perspective.

10. You can pick out each other's outfits

He's gotta be happy that you're there to help his sense of style. It's also good to have a guy to drag along on a shopping trip and not have to worry about hearing girl drama the entire time.

11. You always have someone when you're tired of girl talk

Sometimes you're just sick of girl chatter and you need a boy who just wants to eat and have jam sessions.

12. He can do manly things for you

You're not dating, but of course he's the first one you call when you get car trouble and he always jumps out of your car to pump the gas.

13. You always have each others' best interest in mind

At the end of the day, you just want your boy best friend to be happy, and you'll always be just as good of friends no matter how far away you live from each other!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
