With the cost of college at an all-time high, it’s unfair that students have to sacrifice their dream school in order to avoid drowning in student loans. The anxiety that we as students face knowing our debt is piling up before we even graduate is unsettling. However, a solution may be just around the corner.
The company Zero Bound has come up with a way to help students pay off their loans, all the while giving back to the community. The objective of the organization is to help students build their resumes and help out their community in return for reductions on their student loans bill.
How it works: you sign up with Zero Bound or an affiliated volunteer organization in your area, and volunteer. In return, the organization for which you volunteered for, has their donor’s help to pay off your student loans bill, instead of just making a donation to the organization itself. This way, the donors are helping the organization by giving them a free working staff, and students are getting help in paying off their debt post-college.
Easy, right? The idea behind the company is, "connecting users to establish and strengthen communities, and reducing student loan debt, one sponsor, one volunteer and one organization at a time." Cheers to finding ways to pay off student loans!
