It’s here, it’s happening, it’s spring break!
A week full of non-stop partying, non-stop wildness, non-stop strangers and non-stop fun. College students across the nation will flock to popular cities, such as Miami Beach, Panama City and South Padre Island, throughout March. Need proof? Try booking a flight in the next couple of weeks, tragic.
I know as a college student I should be living it up, jetting off to the nearest party island and enjoying a week of debauchery. There’s just one problem…
I AM EXHAUSTED.
I don’t want to spend this week walking around a new city, bumping into strangers or dealing with travel stress. I don’t want to abandon all my work to the last minute or come back to university completely out of touch. And most of all, I don’t want to spend this week getting no rest or sleep at all.
In somewhere as exotic and exciting as The Bahamas or Florida, there’s no time at all for resting. No time for simply being alone and getting yourself together. There a billion things to do, see and experience. It’s almost by force to go out and explore.
Last year, I took an amazing spring break trip to Miami. Though it was the highlight of my sophomore year, it was one of the busiest weeks I’ve ever had. We did activities and visited monuments every day. I came back to college more tired than I left.
A “boring” spring break allows you to connect with family members, catch up on lost shows, pamper yourself, save money and prep for the second half of the semester.
Quite frankly, I’ve never been so excited to dedicate an entire week to solely my needs.
So, here’s to a boring spring break! Here’s to a week filled with excessive naps, a ridiculous amount of Netflix and constant food and glorious relaxation.
