Relatable Thoughts Every Bored Student Will Praise A Hallelujah To In The Summer

It's the cycle of the student summer life.

Let's be honest, summer is a roller coaster in a hot, sketchy amusement park that you have mixed feelings about. No matter what, we all have ups and downs in the summer.

1. Summer is finally here! I'm going to get so much accomplished!

Deep down, we know we're lying to ourselves, but that won't stop us from *trying* to eat healthy, keep clean, be organized, connect with old friends, have a summer romance, go to the gym and everything in between.

2. I probably bit off more than I can chew... even though I'm not doing anything.

What can I say? Glancing at my summer to-do list in between hour-long episodes of my third binge watching of the day makes me feel guilty. Like, did I actually think I would cut out junk food when the crunch of these chips perfectly compliment the show I'm watching?

3. Okay... no more excuses! We're gonna run a tighter ship here, no cheat days (even though they're everyday)!

LOL psych, my nose just got longer.

4. I still have time... I have plenty of time, why am I stressing

Its true, yep. I still have a couple weeks to finish all my summer work, work on my summer body, make some extra cash, fix my skin and probably do so much more!

5. Hmm... everybody is doing so much more than me...but why...??

*checks Instagram* How did Brittany go to Portugal, Hawaii and visit her parents back home all BEFORE having a turnt Fourth of July party?

6. I guess this summer is not going how I thought it would...

Said every summer ever.

7. I should at least start my summer work

*picks up pencil* "I still have time" *opens laptop to take quiz to see what kind of breakfast egg you would be*

8. Summer blows

Followed by the "when does school start" thought

9. *hangs out with friend once* WOW! This is the start of my new summer: I'm going to go out everyday! I feel great!

*goes out to buy more ice cream and stays in to eat it*

Summer is almost over... I should actually start on my goals....

Suns out, so I can still work on my tan! But... I think its too late to start that organic veggie patch. Oh well, something for next summer.

Ugh. Schools starting soon, why did I ever (secretly) wish for school to come?

The grass is always greener on the other side.

I can't wait till next summer!

Who wouldn't want to go through this cycle again?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
