This Is Insider

We all saw Lady Gaga's amazing Super Bowl performance. She flew into the stadium from the sky, rocked all her songs and nailed every dance step. The following day, the headlines were not about how well she had performed, but rather about her "stomach flap."

If this is considered "fat," then I must be obese. I love how Lady Gaga wasn't ashamed to move and dance freely in her own body. We all have rolls when we sit down, this is because we are human.

Situations like these are what leads people to have bad images of their own bodies. When someone as tiny as Lady Gaga is being shamed for not being perfectly toned, what is the everyday women or young girl supposed to think of her own, not perfectly toned body?

Twitter users began to attack the artist, but her "little monsters," her fans, came to her defense shutting down the body shamers once and for all. They prided her on being comfortable in her own skin and setting realistic expectations of what a woman's body should look like.

Tweets like these and many more blew up on Twitter following the singer's performance. What's ridiculous is that Lady Gaga is very accepting of all people. You can often find her giving back to the less fortunate or fighting for equal right for all types of people. Why can't people do the same for her?

Regardless, Lady Gaga is a great role model. She wasn't afraid to be completely herself in her own skin. What younger girls should take away from this performance is not that her body isn't perfect and should be shamed, but it should be prided because it isn't perfect. Nobody is perfect, not even celebrities because we are simply all human.

Fans, supporters and viewers of Lady Gaga's performance should take away from it just what Lady Gaga preaches -- you were born this way. There's no reason to body shame yourself or others- especially through a computer screen. It's time we start setting more realistic goals for ourselves and stop comparing ourselves to others. There is enough negativity in the world already, let's start spreading some positivity.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
