The excitement before a thunderstorm,

That periwinkle above the sunset.

The distant sound of music coming from the boardwalk

On a warm summer evening

A sleepy cat’s little paw cuddled upon your feet

As the sun peaks through the window on a Sunday

An embrace with someone that you know you can’t be with

But you love them with all your soul

Your favorite book in hand, staring at rain drops on the window

Of your favorite café

Crickets whispering upon the breeze

As stars shine for you in an endless sky

The smile in your grandma’s eyes when she reminisces

About an innocent past

Running through an open field, warm sun, hair free

With no place to be

A carton of chocolate ice cream to yourself

As your favorite movie plays

Those uncontrollable bursts of laughter with friends

On the nights you never want to forget

Saying “I love you”

And meaning it for the first time

That moment that you realize that life is short, tough, uncertain

But beautiful nonetheless

Something we search for,

Wait for,

Chase.

Minutes, seconds, unexpected.

Freedom within, freedom without.

Bliss.
