Poetry On The Odyssey: We Will Not Stand Divided

How many times will this said before change happens?

Poetry On The Odyssey: We Will Not Stand Divided

We were raised to

stand up for our beliefs

and that anyone

had the right to feel safe.

You told us to

speak out against

injustices in the world

and that everyone's voice matters.

We read about teenagers taking

down oppressive governments and leaders.

We had Katniss and Harry Potter

lead us through revolutions.

We have been told that

silence is bad and

our government listens.

We were told wrong.

How long will it take

for everyone to feel safe?

For people to be taken

on more than face value?

Change is happening

and we will not stop

until the injustice is

seen and correctly ceased.

You told us we could

change the world.

Why won't you let

us bring about change?
