If you’ve seen “Billy on the Street” before you are already
aware of the glory of this TV show. If you haven't witnessed this life-changing program, get
ready to buckle up because a new favorite show is in order for you. I’m sure
you’ve seen a clip of this show somewhere while you have been lost in the weird part
of Youtube… But it is an actual 30 minute aired program on Fuse TV, as well!
“Billy on the Street” is a game show that's like "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" if the questions only centered around celebrities, was located on the streets of New York and was also on crack. Host Billy Eichner runs around the mean streets of New York and asks random pedestrians questions or gets them to participate in various made-up games. It is truly a genius concept hosted by a genius comedian. All the interactions are genuine with real New Yorkers. It can’t get any better that that.
So what kind of games does he play? Some of them involve him rapidly going up to people with questions, some are calmer with just one-on-one in your face banter, and others contain celebrity guests who face the harsh public!
Want more proof that this show is the best thing on television right now? Here are examples of the games he plays. Prepare to laugh your ass off and be unproductive from all your responsibilities!
The Lightening Round
This is everyone’s favorite rapid-fire question game where Billy goes up to random people of New York and asks them important questions. His definition of “important” just might be a little different than yours, though. And if they agree with his answer they win a dollar!
For A Dollar
A more tame version of the Lightening Round. There is no rush and Billy really gets the chance to meet the various characters that roam New York City.
Quizzed in the Face
This has the classic game show feel to it… He picks a random person and asks them if they want to play a multi-rounded game for the chance to win up to $100. This has produced some of the most iconic moments from the show. The lady in the clip below is now “Billy on the Street” royalty and comes back at least once a season to make an appearance after audiences fell in love with her the during this Quizzed in the Face. Watch the whole thing and be taken into comedy heaven.
Celebrity Guests
Almost every episode of Billy on the Street has a celebrity guest that Billy either plays a game with or parades around the streets in a fun way. Seeing random people interact with these stars is one of the most hilarious parts of this show. Some get so excited and flustered, while others really could care less. He had some of the biggest names in Hollywood meet him on street like Lindsay Lohan, Chris Pratt, Tina Fey, Neil Patrick Harris and much more! Here are a few of the best:
It's Not Pitbull- It's Amy Poehler!
It's Debra Messing, You Gays
Does Shakira Know What That Is? (With Patton Oswalt and a Ratatouille rant)
Obstacle Courses
Every once in a while “Billy on the Street” sets up something a little different. They invite a celebrity on the show to do an obstacle course dedicated to one specific Hollywood starlight. They have done the “Meryl-Go-Round” in honor of 19 time Academy Award Nominee Meryl Streep and, of course, the “Julia Roberts Obstacle Course”. This recent one called “Shondaland” really shows how creative this man can be... He devoted a whole serious of events based on ABC’s iconic producer Shonda Rhymes.
There are a ton of other amazing moments that have been captured on this show. It’s impossible to list them all, but here are a couple other games that need an honorable mention.
Billy gets in a fight with a woman about Denzel Washington.
This just shows that anything can happen when you just go up and ask random
people questions. Sometimes fights break out, sometimes love connections happen... Yes, Billy has kissed an elderly woman before. Don't question it.
"Billy on the Street" brought three of the greatest powers together in one grocery store... Big Bird, Elana from the previous Quizzed in the Face, and First Lady Michelle Obama. This is a must watch!
The iconic game “List Sex Moves in Front of Mr. Rogers.” No description needed.
Last, but seriously not least, here is Amy Poehler and Billy running around getting people to sing Christmas carols with them. Just in time for the holidays!
If you’re still not convinced that you need to watch this show, tune in on Thursdays at 10:30 on TruTV to watch the full episodes. This is the game show America has been waiting for.
And we finally have it. Thank you, Billy!
