There are many conspiracy theories out there and some are pretty wacky. However there are plenty of conspiracy theories in hip-hop culture and some are more surprising than others. Hip hop artist such as Chris Brown believes the government created Ebola to control the human population. Rapper B.O.B believes that the world is flat and that cloning exists. Here's a list of some of the craziest hip-hop Conspiracy.
1. Gucci Mane was cloned
Rapper Gucci Mane was recently released from prison, after being in jail since 2013, and fans noticed something different about him. His girlfriend Keyshia Ka'oir posted Snapchat videos showing off the new Gucci Mane, and fans began to question whether it was really Gucci himself. Gucci Mane lost a lot of weight, and it appears that he's missing some of his famous tattoos, such as his ice cream cone face tattoo.
In the videos, he acts very sophisticated, sporting designer glasses, and eating fruit. Those are all things that fans cant imagine the drug dealing, codeine sipping Gucci mane doing. So instead of accepting that maybe Gucci really has turned his life around, fans believe the "real" Gucci Mane was killed in prison and this is a government clone. Gucci Mane has stated that "[He] will neither support nor deny [these] accusations.
2. Jay Z is in the illuminati
This is one of the most believed conspiracy theories. Jay-Z is very rich, and many believe this is only because he sold his soul to the devil and is now a member of the Illuminati, which is a conspiracy itself. His diamond symbol that he holds up is believed to represent the Illuminati symbol of the all seeing eye. Theorists have even taken it so far to play Jay Z's songs backward claiming they say things like "murder Jesus" or that his daughter Blu Ivy's name backward spells Eulb Yvi, which is latin for "Lucifers Daughter."
3. Tupac is still alive
Rapper Tupac was shot and killed September 13, 1996, but theorists believe that he is in fact still alive today. The theory is that Tupac made his way to Cuba and has been hiding there ever since. Also, the albums released after is death were released under the pseudonym "Makaveli", which is in reference to Niccolo Machiavelli, the renaissance philosopher, who Tupac read about in prison. Machiavelli faked his own death and theorist believe Tupac did the same.
4. Suge Knight gave Easy-E AIDS
N.W.A rapper Easy-E died of AIDS in 1995, and Easy's family and friends believe that record producer, Suge knight injected Easy with the deadly disease. Suge and Easy got into a dispute because easy would not drop rapper Dr. Dre's contract, but after Suge beat Easy up and possibly injected him with AIDS, Easy did drop Dre's contract. The shocking part of this conspiracy is that although Easy died of AIDS,however, his girlfriends and his children did not test positive for HIV/AIDS. Knight made a comment on the Jimmy Kimmel show in 2003 saying, "So they got stuff where they get blood from somebody with AIDS and they shoot you with it, so that's a slow death- that Easy-E thing."
5. Record labels own stock in prison, so they sell music that sends people to prison.
The theory is that in 1991, there was a meeting held between "industry insiders", who invested in private prisons and decided that gangsta rap was the perfect music to promote violence and therefore send more people to jail. Ironically, rap listeners are typically black and most incarcerated men are also black. Theorists do believe there is a correlation between rap music and violence.
