Beyonce is more than just a pop star -- she is the most powerful woman in the entertainment industry. She has surprised the world multiple times in the last few years, and each time the world has come to stop because we are all so fascinated by what she is doing.
Why are we so fascinated by her? It's because she keeps to herself. We never really know what is going on, and we find out exactly what she wants us to find out. There were rumblings of trouble in her marriage with Jay-Z, but nothing was confirmed until she recently put out her newest visual album, "Lemonade."
Beyonce has changed the game and stopped the world. She literally says it in her song with Nicki Minaj titled "Feeling Myself." Here are some examples of exactly when and how made the world stop turning:
When she dropped "Lemonade" this week through an HBO special. During this special, Bey addressed the rumors that Jay-Z cheated on her head on. She did so in an amazingly artistic, poetic way. The music itself is amazing. Each song shows off a different side of Beyonce's many different talents. Also, now everyone is dying to figure out exactly who "Becky with the good hair" is. But, that's the fun part. Beyonce keeps her private life private, and she reveals to us what she wants to reveal. And she does so through her music.
When she literally caused a power outage after her iconic Super Bowl performance in 2013. She reunited with Destiny's Child and had one of the most talked about performances in Super Bowl history. And she delayed the game because they couldn't handle her greatness and the power went out.
Beyonce returned to the Super Bowl this year. She was a special guest during Coldplay's halftime show. She performed her controversial single "Formation" that was released as a surprise the day before. She almost fell during her performance, but she caught herself effortlessly. They slayage didn't end there, though. Immediately after the performance a commercial aired that announced the "Formation World Tour." She literally stopped the world at the Super Bowl again and this time, it wasn't even her half-time show.
On December 13, 2013, the world stopped. Beyonce released a self-titled "visual album" without prior announcement. It sold over 800,000 copies in just three days. Each song on the album came with a music video. The internet stopped, the world stopped. It was all anyone could talk about. With this album, Beyonce did something amazing. She made a statement. She talked about feminism, infidelity, motherhood, jealousy, marriage, and her sex life with her husband. She tore down so many walls with this groundbreaking album and it is still one of my all-time favorite albums.
Beyonce is a cultural icon. She is, in my opinion, the most powerful woman in the world. She is an extremely talented performer, but she is also an incredible philanthropist. She truly is the Queen.
