Oh great, it's that time of year again where the chocolates, the flowers and the giant overstuffed teddy bears that you have no space for in your room come into the isles of all the grocery stores in town. It's the "season of love" where you are forced to watch everyone go out with their significant others while you're eating all of the heart-shaped candy you bought for yourself. But good for you, you don't need a man for Valentine's Day. Be your own date, or get together with some pals and take on Valentine's Day 2016 with this list of things to do.
1. Grab your friends and invite to the party two special someones that will always be there for you...your two best buddies, Ben & Jerry
Make it a girl's night and dance with Beyonce to "Single Ladies". It's a proven fact that friends, ice cream, rom-com movies and blankets create the best kinds of nights. Make a no phone rule, no boys, no drama, and no getting sad over other's sappy Instagram posts.
2. Make yourself a meal from all those recipes you've saved on Pinterest
You know very well you have about 186+ recipes pinned on a Pinterest board, all a variety of desserts, drinks, dinners and soups. How often will you actually take the time to make these? I know I'd rather reach for the microwavable pizza bagels. So this Valentine's Day, pick out couple of recipes, go grocery shopping ahead of time, and make yourself an awesome meal. Don't forget to turn on some tunes and dance a little while you cook!
3. Treat yo' self
Go on a shopping spree, go get your nails done, or go see a movie. You've got a busy life and in between school, work, and being social, take a day to focus on your well-being and treat yourself!
4. Have a wine and chocolate dance party
There's a reason you see people do this in romantic comedies. It's fun! Grab some Valentine's chocolate, pour some wine, and dance crazy around in your underwear to let off some steam!
5. Go out!
Who says you can't have fun and go out while you're single? Grab some of your trusty girls, do your hair and makeup, and make yourself look bomb af. Go out and have fun! There are sure to be parties to attend, and places to go have a good time!
