Dear Coaches,
I don't think there are enough words to tell how great of an impact you guys have had on my life. I appreciate you more than you'll ever know. While I enjoy what I am doing now, I must admit, I took those days for granted. Thank you for always going the extra mile and loving on a spoiled kid like me. None of you ever gave up one me or any of my teammates. You saw everything in me that I never saw in myself. You always had faith in me and I'm forever grateful that our relationship went beyond the practices and games held at Rosemont and South Hills.
It is clear that our school didn't have the best athletics but we have something better, coaches, that never gave up and cared more about skill than wins. It doesn't go un-noticed. There were so many days that I didn't like you guys because you yelled at me, but now I realized would you ever have said anything if you didn't even care?
It's so awesome that no matter what sport I was playing or what level I was playing at, one of you guys were there if not all of you. I want you to know that each of you possess qualities that I'd love to have someday. I proceed to remind you that not all heroes wear capes. Your hard work and dedication to the team has been nothing short of a blessing. Don't get me wrong, I know I was a favorite but I also know you guys would do the same for any other athlete in your program. I appreciate you guys never showing favoritism because we all know how that ends.
Thanks for stepping up and being coach-moms because we all know sometimes I got out of hand.So thanks for choosing me.
Senior year club season would have not, been the same if you weren't my coach. Here's my favorite thing about you, you were always my coach first, sometimes my sister, sometimes even a mom and best friend at the same time. I don't know a coach and athlete that argues more than us and still loves each other. I must admit it's pretty cool being your mini-me.
You are the peace-maker of us all and no one was ever as quick as you to step up and make sure I had everything I needed, whether is was food, paying for fees or even getting ready for graduation, you did it all. You humbled me not only as a person but as an athlete. I hope you never retire because I want everyone to meet you. You made me your first daughter- I'm honored.
First off, being a part of the Carpenter crew is awesome. Thanks for always supporting our picture habit and celebrating my birthdays with me as if I were your own. You stayed on me about everything but it's cool. It has helped with so much more in my life. I gave you every reason to give up on me but you didn't. Thanks. This all started with you.
All of my college friends know about you guys. No one understands how I can call my coaches to come pick me up from college, call you guys at any hour and get an answer, or why when you guys are lecturing me on the phone I still listen. I wouldn't trade you guys for any coaches in the world. Y'all are forever my role models and my inspiration. So here's to the coaches who became family. Know it was all worth it.
If I never came across you guys, I would never be who I am today.
Sincerely,
Your kiddo
