The spring semester is ending and we are that much closer to the next step in our lives. Some of us are graduating college and some of us are another year closer to that date. We may have friends graduating and moving, and it feels like high school graduation all over again. Everyone goes their separate ways and it can be difficult to stay in touch. Except now, staying in touch with college friends is easier than your high school friends who tend to drift off into a strange direction.
Even though this is a very stressful time with finals and raising grades, we should take this time to reminisce about the fun, happy times you have had over the college years.
Some people are graduating and leaving behind friends, sorority sisters, and fraternity brothers. When you are in college, you don't realize the days are going by so fast, and when you get to the end, you wonder where all of the time went. It can be sad to look back and think you are going to leave the place that has provided you with life long friends and memories that you will always carry with you. Some people will stay and some people will leave.
In these four years of college, you go through major changes in your life and are thrown into situations where you are forced to be on your own. The friends you made were with you through your strange dorm roommates, parties, miserable hangovers, all-nighters in the library, your first finals, boyfriends, breakups, and endless laughs. You grow up with these people.
For those that aren't graduating yet, it can be a sad time watching your friends graduate. Being friends with these people and having them to look up to as you go through college is a big deal. They are your role models and they give you advice on everything. They've been there since you got to college and probably know you best.
The end of a spring semester can be full of emotion: excitement, sadness and anxiety. Excitement is the emotion you should choose to be most dominant. Graduating or not, you are going to have more memories ahead of you, more adventures, more mistakes to learn from, and more people who will impact your life in ways you didn't know possible. It is a time to be thankful for the year or years that you've had and time to move on to the next.
It is always difficult moving on to something new and unknown and it will never get easier. People always say that your college years are the best years of your life. Despite the studying and finals and stressing about future careers, you meet some of the best people, you get to grow up with these people, and you get to treasure those memories forever.
