The Best Winter Vacation Spot
Taylor Liszewski

Families are constantly searching for a new vacation spot. A place that has fun for all ages, but is not your typical amusement park or beach "fam vacay." In the very unexpected state of Wyoming, is a small town surrounded by mountains, home to beautiful wildlife and is the epitome of a winter wonderland. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is a top winter vacation spot for families with all ages and endless activities.

A lot of people's draw back from a snow filled land is the cold. In the northwest, the humidity levels are a lot lower in comparison to somewhere such as the southeast. This makes the cold a lot more bearable and feel warmer than it truly is. So don't opt out just yet.

About 15 minutes from the Jackson Hole airport is the town of Jackson. Here is the town square with an ice skating rink and the famous antler arches, many local shops, and restaurants. As you drive out of town you will find other resorts and ranches spread across the spacious land. However, the drive to town, through it and around Jackson Hole are never boring.

On your way into town is just as entertaining as being in town. Initially. you land in the center of the Grand Teton Mountains. Landing and driving out of the airport through this national park is picture perfect. Many say it does not even look real. Then, you will pass the National Elk Reserve on one side of you where sleigh rides through the reserve are offered and others include a dinner.

Then, you will look upon the other side and see a mountainous terrain commonly full of mountain sheep, deer, and if you're lucky a wolf. As you drive through the area you will find much more wildlife including fox and moose. At dawn or dusk, grab a camera and take a ride through the scenic space and look for these fascinating creatures.

Jackson Hole has been named one of the top ski destinations in the United States by many. With multiple mountains the skiing or snowboarding never gets old. As of December 18, 2015, Jackson Hole has already had over 105 feet of snowfall. For skiers and boarders, this means powder because who wants to ski on ice. Great amounts of snow amount for great skiing and a great sight for those who would prefer to sit back and watch. Grab a cup of hot chocolate and watch everyone come down the mountain or the children in their amazing ski school.

If you want a break from skiing, Snow King Mountain has a tubing hill for families to link together and soar through the snow in an inner-tube. An employee will latch your tube handle onto the "magic carpet" to pull you already inside your tube up the hill. Once you are placed in your lane, latch on to your family and hold on for the ride. Oh, and don't forget video cameras for this one!

But for those who love nature or just want to see what beautiful things it has to offer, Yellowstone National Park is only a short ride away. During the winter, snow is so deep the park closes for cars and only allows snowmobiles or snow coaches. Take a snow mobile to see sights like Old Faithful and buffalo filling Hayden Valley. Even if you have been to Yellowstone in the summer, the winter is breathtaking. Artist Point looks like a different scene from a postcard. If you aren't up for a few hours out on the snow mobile, jump in a snow coach and don't miss out on this opportunity.

Jackson Hole is the perfect winter family vacation for those ready for a different adventure. However, a visit in the summer is just as interesting when white water rafting, driving through Yellowstone, mountain biking an X Games course or hiking are available. If you are looking for a new spot to vacation, Jackson Hole, Wyoming will not disappoint.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
